MLB Prospect Guide Player of the Year

After compiling all the stats and running my formula on it, the winner of the 2012 MLBPG Player of the Year is Jurickson Profar, SS, Texas Rangers.

After an amazing season in AA, Profar homered in his first MLB at bat. He also homered at the Futures Game earlier in the year as well. Blessed with amazingly quick wrists and elite contact ability, Profar is an amazing hitter. Not taking defense into consideration in my formula, Profar would have won by a larger margin if I had as his defense at SS is very good as well. It will be interesting to see what the Rangers do this off season to make room for Profar in the bigs.

Oscar Taveras was a very close second and Billy Hamilton ran to 3rd place. While I don't see Hamilton as good of a prospect, the season is hard to overlook.
