My 2007 draft

In 2007, I had a year of experience in the league and I made a few trades. I traded my 2nd, 4th and 6th picks along with JR Towles and Aaron Thompson for Jeff Francouer. And then I did something dumb. I wanted to trade up to 9th overall in the draft, as I had the 13th overall pick. The owner of that pick wanted a 1st and 3rd eound pick for that pick. Considering I had earlier moved my 2nd and 4th for Frenchy, I thought it was a little steep, and the guy I wanted wasn't going to be that much better than the guy I would get, either Matt Dominguez or Kevin Ahrens. Jason Heyward wasn't worth a 1st and 3rd...oops.
Well onto what I actually did.

I took Matt Dominguez, expecting him to be a Mike Lowell type. His bat hasn't delivered quite as well as I had hoped but he has time. Collin DeLome can hit the ball a mile, but has contact issues but could be a nice platoon OF'er.
Matt Rizzotti is haveing a nice season this year, but has been underwhelming to this point. Brown sounded like a 5 tool player out of college, but has shown no power. I really overdrafted him. Adam Reifer had some elbow issues and slid a little, so I gave him a shot and he still has a power arm but his command is erratic. Kade Keowen was a 6'6" toolsy moster. Big raw power, speed and good arm. He was playing CF at the time and I thought he could have a big future. He batted .241 last season with 10 HR, and 91K's in 315 AB. He was released just a couple weeks ago by Boston. Wehrle quit baseball after the 2007 season, as far as I can tell. Meyers had a great season last year. Kentrail Davis didn't sign and went to Tennesee. McCardell was a polished player out of Div. II college and has shown that while being brought along very slowly by the Twins. PJ Dean missed the 2009 season due to TJ surgery. Cishek could run it up to 95 and is now a power arm out of the pen.
Jon Holt was released this spring and Koss and Greenwalt aren't lighting the world up. But...as we get lower, I read about Matt Moore and he looked like a solid pick. A high school lefty who needed some polish and could be good. I underrated him at that point.
I read about this toolsy raw OF/P Jiwan James. He was a late sign and an overslot sign, so I thought he could pay off. I rolled the dice and he is flying up prospect lists this season. At this point, the draft looks like it has a couple big prospects, but not as many future big leaguers as the 2006 draft.
